Cut the Rope 2 brings new worlds, tools, and characters to the physics-based puzzle game beloved by many. iCloud syncing makes it easy to play on multiple devices.
Among Om Nom’s new helpers are Roto, a critter who can carry candy; Blue from the Junkyard, a blob that multiplies on tap; and Toss, a spring-headed character that throws objects upward.
What is Cut the Rope 2?
Cut the Rope 2 brings new levels and characters to the physics-based puzzler that’s been one of the biggest hits on the App Store. A sequel to the original, it features 168 entirely new levels with fresh, mind-bending challenges that will keep your brain fit and your sweet tooth satisfied.
The main gameplay remains the same, with players cutting ropes to manipulate the environment so that candy falls into Om Nom’s mouth. But the game expands beyond that in several ways.
For example, each world houses a different creature that helps or hinders you. From Forest stages with Roto, an orange critter that can carry objects up and down the screen, to Junkyard stages with Blue, a blob made up of self-multiplying copies, to Sandy Dam with Lick, whose tongue makes secondary bridges, to City Park with a spring-headed creature that can throw objects, these “Nommies” all help you get through the challenging levels.
How to Play
The sequel to the hit mobile game Cut the Rope features new levels, characters, challenges, and tools to help Om Nom stay full of candy and happy. It’s a physics-based puzzler with some amazing graphics and tons of fun and exciting levels.
Almost every level has ropes that hold up candy that you need to drop or roll to Om Nom. The game also features obstacles and traps that can be used to your advantage. Some of these include wood blocks, fans, powerful magnets, and more.
There are hints available to make certain levels easier, but these are limited and it’s best to use them sparingly. The game is very challenging and requires patience and creativity to overcome the many obstacles. The game also offers in-game rewards like hats for Om Nom and win streak bonus items daily. It’s a great game to play on the go and pick up and play when you have some free time.
The characters in Cut the Rope 2 have their unique abilities. Some, like the Whoopee Cushions which blow air when pressed, can be used to move candy or Om Nom around the screen; the Gravity Screw, present in the Cosmic Box, and the Heli-Critter in the Magic Box can also be used for this purpose. There are also other characters such as the Nommies who appear in every environment and can be activated by swiping on them, or they can be triggered by other events such as the clovers which require a special power-up to collect or the medals earned for completing levels in specific ways.
Cut the Rope 2 is a full-fledged sequel to 2010’s original Cut the Rope, and it builds upon its core gameplay, adding new environments with different levels, characters, and forms of gameplay. The game also features additional content grouped into “boxes” which are available through updates, including the Magic Box, Experiments, and Time Travel.
Each level presents an interesting puzzle to solve. Some are simple while others are more complex and require the player to think outside of the box.
Indicators in the game show what must be done, and are colored according to the type of action required. The player can also use various equipment, including suction cups that attach to surfaces (first introduced in Fabric Box level 2-1), air cushions that propel the candy, and bee ropes that move along a path at a constant speed and are first introduced in Buzz Box.
The game also offers hints, but players should use them sparingly to make sure they have enough for difficult levels. Like most puzzle games, the best way to solve a level is not always obvious and requires experimenting with different possibilities until a solution is found. It is possible to retry any level as many times as needed. The game synchronizes progress using iCloud, so the player can continue where they left off on another iOS device.
